How can I wire and program an l.e.d. light,to indicate an armed or disarmed system status outside my home?

To begin, you will need an l.e.d. rated for use between 9 and 12 volts dc, a 1000 ohm resistor and 22 or 24 gauge 2 conductor wire, available at most local electronic hardware stores

The positive l.e.d. wire will twist to one end of the 1000 ohm resistor...the other end of the resistor will connect to the +12V terminal at the back of the Powermax+ console.

The negative led wire will connect to the PGM terminal.

Then through Installers mode programming, we can  program the system so the l.e.d. will illuminate once the system is armed and  go out when the system is disarmed.

Press NEXT until you see INSTALLERS MODE, then press OK
Now press NEXT until you see DEFIINE OUTPUTS, then press OK
Now you'll see DEFINE PGM, press OK You'll see PULSE TIME, press OK, 2s will be displayed, press OK You'll now see BY ARM AWAY, press OK, then press NEXT until you see "TURN ON" then press OK Twice.

Now you can press AWAY then OK to exit programming.

Arm the system and check the l.e.d. for illumination once the system has fully armed.
