A. The control has already been programmed by the manufacturer so zone 1 can be used for a 2 wire smoke detector. If the 2000ohm resistor with the color bands Red Black Red Gold is not wired to zone 1 yet,or has been wired for a door,this message will appear. The zone type can be changed through programming.(placing the 2000ohm resistor across terminals 8 and 9 will temporarily secure zone 1 until programming is complete.
